The newly launched MUSE offers a space for all artists alike. Curating only arts and craft supplies, the two-story shop has everything an artist would require to create the perfect art piece.
MUSE currently houses supplies of Australian brand, Mont Marte—from varieties of paints, pencils and charcoals, clay, canvases and sketchpads. More art brands will join the MUSE collection to create the ultimate haven for all artists.
What stands out MUSE from your regular stationary store is; not only does it specialize in arts and craft; the shop also offers a space for artists to display their artworks at its exhibition hall. Small pieces ranging from 8-10 can be showcased at the hall in the second floor. The featured artist of this month is Gahuva Gallery by Iphpha.
Moreover, it offers a space where the art community can gather and hold meetings, do live art or even conduct art sessions. Bookings can be made directly by contacting MUSE.
Owner of MUSE, Ahmed Azmee (commonly known as Baachy) said that MUSE is a 6-year-old dream of several artists come true.
“MUSE wouldn’t have happened if it weren’t for the continuous support given by my wife and 2 daughters. I would like to thank my family, Hishban, Iphpha, Shimhaq, Ivan, Shadhoon and Nabeel for assisting me in the development of MUSE.”
To pave way for the growth of art industry in Maldives, MUSE plans to offer art workshops and art camps for all ages led by prominent artists in the country. From weekdays to week classes, each workshop will specialize on a specific art medium such as sculpture making, gold/silver jewelry making and water color classes.
MUSE also intends to host a series of exhibitions of artworks from Maldives art collectors. The first edition is set to take place in January 2022 and will create a space where art enthusiasts can network and resell art pieces.
