The exhibition titled Underwater World of Maldives displays art work and craftsmanship of Dr. Naila Ibrahim Didi. This exhibition will be Dr. Naila’s third exhibition. Her last exhibition was held 21 years ago.
President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih and First Lady of Maldives Fazna Ahmed opened the exhibition officially in a ceremony held on 21st August 2019. The ceremony was also attended by Yumna Maumoon, the Minister for the Arts, Culture and Heritage.
Dr. Naila is the the first female obstetrician gynaecologist in the Maldives and a founding member of the Society for Health Education (SHE).
She has been painting since 1995, driving the inspiration for her artwork and craftsmanship from the colors and beauty under water.
Her exhibition will be on going at the National Art Gallery until the 24th of August 2019.
