Art Gallery Male’ presents the latest works by the long term resident and beloved member of the Maldivian community, Philippe Laurella.
The ‘Searching for Lost Time’ art exhibition currently open for public viewing from 24th November 2022 at the Art Gallery Male’ showcases 36 intricate paintings that reflect Maldives through Philippe’s eyes.
Phillipe’s paintings are unique with his experience of the environment of the Maldives and with his French background molding and shaping a unique form of expression of the living seas of the Maldives. His work illustrates the dazzling colors, intriguing behavior and high richness of life of our marine environment – and delivers an important message on the ecological changes that Maldives has gone through.
Philippe who has been living in Maldives for the past 44 years hopes that the exhibition will create a dialogue within the art viewers on the importance of protecting the natural environment.
“Searching for Lost Time” exhibition is open for public viewing at the Art Gallery Male’ till the 6th December 2022.
