Maldives International Art Exhibition to be Held from 23rd-26th October 2021

Maldives International Art Exhibition 2021 officially opened last night at the National Art Gallery, Maldives. The exhibition is organized by SMD Art Foundation India, in collaboration with Indian Culture Centre, High Commission of India Maldives and Maldivian Artist Community – MAC and National Art Gallery.

Part of the Maldives International Art Festival (MIAF) 2021, the exhibition will be open for public viewing from 24th-26th October 2021. “Maldives International Peace Award” ceremony is also scheduled to take place during the exhibition.

In a communication Mintu Deka, Founder and Managing Director of SMD Art Foundation NGO said that, they have been organizing international art exhibitions and festivals all over the world for the last eleven years. After the pandemic, this exhibition will be the first mega exhibition to be organized by SMD Art Foundation. Mintu Deka also added; the world is facing a huge pandemic that has changed life for millions of people. In the time like this, “hope” can be a powerful source of reassurance, “Hope” is the belief, the intensity of this feeling can really change your present and future.

According to Maldivian Artist Community – MAC, General Secretary Hussain Ihfal (iphpha), this exhibition will be one of the best and biggest international exhibitions to be carried out this year. He said 6 artists from Maldives will participate in the exhibition and those 6 artists are from the Maldivian Artist Community – MAC.

Maldives International Art Exhibition 2021 is expected to showcase art works of 91 artists from 30 countries including Maldives, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Republic of Korea, Singapore, Japan, Vietnam, Taiwan, Malaysia, Egypt, Jordan, Iran, Turkey, Argentina, Chile, Austria, France, Spain, Slovakia, Serbia, Bulgaria, Switzerland, Sweden, Netherlands, France, Russia, Canada and USA.
