Photo exhibition, “The White Fire” opens for viewing

This photo exhibition by renown photographer Mohamed Azmeel portray the effect of climate change upon our coral reefs and ecosystem. The exhibition was officially opened on 20th October with a private viewing ceremony. The Minister of Environment and the Minister for Arts, Culture and Heritage were amongst those in attendance.

Comprising of The ‘Muraka Faaru’ or the photo exhibition and educational sessions titled, “Muraka Vaahaka” the Coral Story, the exhibition will be open to the public from 10 am to 10 pm from 21st to 24th October at the National Art Gallery.

The photo exhibition display 10 photographs inspired from corals and tells the story of the marine life and biodiversity of the Maldives. All photographs are based on the theme of coral bleaching. ‘Muraka Vaahaka’ looks into how coral bleaching affects this ecosystem. The sessions will be conducted by professional marine biologists during the exhibition.
