President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has appointed Mr. Hussain Ali Manik as the Senior Executive Director of the Ministry of Arts, Culture and Heritage. He is one of the most prominent artists in the Maldives today.
Recipient of various awards such as the Youth Artist Award in 2001 by the President of Maldives and the 2016 National Visual Artist Award, Mr. Hussain has always played a key role in the creative industry.
From his work as one of the six founding members of United Artists of Maldives, an art association founded to promote the artists in Maldives to owning a gallery in the 2000’s to display his art work, he has contributed immensely towards the growth of the art industry in the country.
He is also the talented artist behind the artwork and design of the Maldivian passport, making it one of the most unique passports.
